Pakistan Ratifies the Kigali Amendment
Pakistan has officially joined the growing list of countries that have ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, a global agreement aimed at gradually phasing down the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
With this step, Pakistan becomes one of the nations actively committed to reducing HFC consumption by more than 80% over the next 30 years, aligning with international efforts to slow global warming and protect the ozone layer.
This move supports Pakistan’s broader climate action strategy and demonstrates the country’s commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection, and global cooperation under the United Nations framework.
